Reset Travel

Reset Travel

As seen in Courier Magazine

Reset Travel is my small business with a big mission. It’s a platform dedicated to challenging mass tourism, through travel tools, content, and events that encourage powerful experiences with minimal impact to our planet.

Take a look for yourself at some of the creative concepts I’ve come up with to share the Reset mission.

Online Shop

The Reset shop offers tools to help travellers amp up their trips. Last Christmas we launched conversation cards for group travellers, self-reflection cards for solo travellers and gift boxes with notebooks, soaps, and ‘Reset Manifesto’ postcards. Have a look.

‘Anti-travel’ Workshop

'Be an Anti-Traveller' was a hands-on workshop for travellers looking to leave basic holidays in 2019 and say hello to immersive travel experiences that don’t wreck the planet. The event included a presentation on mass tourism and low carbon travel, as well as an interactive slow travel workshop.

Women on a Misson Weekend

The Woman on a Mission weekend was a two-day event for female entrepreneurs. It included a themed-brunch, several workshops, and a panel discussion led by myself. I organised the sold-out event alone, securing venues, speakers, and accomodation for attendees.

Published writing

With a background in journalism, I’ve been published by SUITCASE, Nataal, Spindle and Convo magazine. The majority of my writing covers travel and lifestyle. This year I’m keen to focus on slow travel, responsible travel and sustainability. Let’s connect if you want to talk about these issues too.

Runway East

Runway East

London based coworking space

Runway East is a coworking space in London and Bristol that provides startups with office space, support and connections. I worked there as Marketing Executive, taking care of copy, design, and partnerships, working on materials and initiatives to attract startup founders. Some of the main things I worked on included:

  • Designing brochures and proposals
  • Copy for brochures, newsletters and events
  • Ensuring consistency throughout internal brand/comms
  • Relaunching the RWE referral programme
  • Creating content for the blog and social media
  • Organising and running events

Kayla is an incredibly skilled copywriter, designer and marketer, with a particular emphasis on copy, design, email marketing and website optimisation/design.

For us she’s been excellent at making Runway East sing online - our brochure for RWE Temple Meads gives you a great idea of her copy and design skills. She’s versatile and doesn’t just write ‘Kayla’ - very good at adapting to tone.

She has an innate sense of ‘what good looks like’ when it comes to copy and design, and also has commercial acumen - she actually stops and asks the question ‘what does the lead need to see to get to the next stage’ when she plans content, versus just turning out good copy.
